日曜日の暖かい日差しとは一転して、昨日も今日も寒い。こんな冬の寒さも、うだるような夏の暑さも「どんとこい」の身体になりたいけど、特に、寒いのは苦手だ。いったん外に出てしまうと、冷たいピンとした空気は気持ちいいんだけどね~
先日のお客さんはオーストラリアからのカップル。皇居東御苑の梅林を歩いていた時、「梅と桜って似ているけどどうやって見分けるの?」と質問された。実は私もガイドの仕事をするまで全く見分けられなかった。見分けるポイントはいろいろあるようだが、私が用意している答は、「近寄って、花びらの先を見てみて!これは先が丸いので梅。先が割れていたら桜よ!」。
梅が咲いて、桃が咲き始め、桜が満開になる。まさに「冬来たりなば春遠からじ」だ。
朝の散歩の後は、珈琲を淹れて、ダークチョコレートで一休み。心と身体が喜んでいる。午後からは、確定申告書類の提出作業。超が無限大につくくらい苦手……。
'How do you tell a plum blossom from a cherry blossom?', my guest asked me when we strolled down Bairin-zaka Slope lined with plum trees in East Gardens of the Imperial Palace last Sunday. That's a good question! Actually they look the same as eah other.
There must be several differences, but we can tell from the tip of the petals: the round tip is a plum blossom while a little split one is cherry ones.
It's still so cold, but plum blossoms are coming out, next peach blossmos, and then cherry blossoms......YES, spring is just around the corner!
