コロナ禍で、ほとんどの時間を自宅で過ごしてきた4ヵ月あまりは、
ジーンズとヨガパンツの生活だった。
20歳のころ、ジーンズと着物の両方が似合う大人の女性にあこがれた。
街で、シックな着物を粋に着こなして、
あるいはカッコよくジーンズを履きこなしている女性を見かけると、
今でも、ほれぼれと見とれてしまう。
子育てがひと段落したころ、着付け教室に通ってみたことがある。
しかし、根がずぼらで、着物の手入れが面倒だった。
浴衣ですら、ずっとハンガーにかかったまま吊るされているのを見るたび、
ストレスを感じていた。着物は、私には、ハードルが高いとわかった。
ジーンズは、おしゃれをするお金の余裕もなかった大学生のころから、
子育て中もフリーランスの仕事中も、年がら年中、なくてはならないアイテム。
ブルージーンズが一番好き。
それに、ジーンズは、なんといっても、手入れが楽ちん。着物とは大違い。
洗濯機に放りこめばいいし、陰干しもしなくていい。
大股で歩けるし、走れるし、髪をアップにする必要もない。
日差しを浴びた洗いたてのジーンズに足を通す心地よさは格別。
私のワードローブからジーンズがなくなることはないだろう。
そして、ヨガパンツ。
ビクラムヨガに通い始めたころ、ホットヨガに適したウェアを着ている人が多いなか、
貧乏性の私は、すでにたくさん持っていたダンス用のパンツで練習した。
熱心に通い始めると、自分へのご褒美と称して、新しいヨガパンツをゲットして
嬉々としてヨガスタジオに通ったものだ。
ジーンズもヨガパンツも、身体を動かすには最適。
エレガントなおしゃれとは程遠いが、今の私の生活にはぴったりだ。
Around the age of 20, I was attracted to an adult woman
who stylishly worn both kimono and jeans.
Still now, ladies in chic kimono or in jeans smartly on the street fascinate me very much.
I learned how to put on kimono by myself before.
The class itself was very interesting, but
it was so hard for me, who is poor at tidying up, to take care of kimono,
and I realized I would give up wearing kimono.
Meanwhile my life has been with blue jeans......always,
...in my university days, while raising children, when working on a freelance basis......
Jeans are not so expensive and very easy to take care of.
I'm sure jeans will be a staple in my closet.
Recently, yoga pants have been added to my daily clothes
especially after the Covid-19 pandemic, when I almost stay home.
As I was a full-on Bikram Yoga lover, I needed lots of yoga pants,
which I still wear for my daily life.
Both jeans and yoga pants are very easy to move actively,
and are essential for my wardrobe, far from fashionable though.
