I've visited my neighborhood small shrine(s) in almost every morning
since 1 and a half years ago.
I'm not a so-called religious person. Then why a Shito shrine?
Before this habit, I had taken a walk in a nearby park on my day off
as a part of rehabilitation after a muscle injury.
There are 2 small shrines on my way to the park, and thus I got to stop by at the shrines.
On my duty days, I usualy go to the nearest one, located 3-minute walk from my condo, after breakfast. I live on the 9th floor, thus I go downstairs, visit the shrine, and go back upstairs to the 9th fl. Since I'm a heavy breakfast eater, this helps my digestion, I hope.
I just say "Good morning" to a deity, give my thanks, and pray for something,
with eyes closed and palms together, making me so calm.
I feel myself purified. It's a kind of a short meditation.
Even a small habit will make something meaningful in our life.
Right?
