ほのかな春の光~A Small Sign of Spring

もう梅の花が咲いていると聞いて、昼から散歩に出かけた。


例年なら、大晦日近くまで仕事を入れていて多忙を極めているのに、
今年はなんとも贅沢で気楽な年末を過ごしている。
コロナ禍の状況にならなければ自分からは選択できなかった時間だ。
大変な思いをする一方、教わることも多い。

 

午前中の雲も取れ、きれいなブルースカイと梅の白やピンクのコントラストが美しい。
冬至が過ぎ、梅の花がほころび始め、春の光がほのかに見えてきた。

 

「梅と桜ってどうやって見分けるの?」
海外のお客様からよく聞かれた質問のひとつだ。
花びらの先が丸いのが梅、分かれているのが桜だとか。

 

今朝も公園を1周(6.44kmを6.54分/kmペース)と午後から20分ヨガ。

I took a walk in the afternoon to enjoy the beauty of plum blossoms.

 

I was supposed to be busy with guiding jobs until the end of the year, but, due to the Covid-19 crisis, I have spent a relaxing, stress-free time. Without the pandemic, I would never make time for personally enjoying beautiful flowers at this season. I even learned something important from the pandemic.

 

The white or pink blossoms make a perfect contrast with the very blue sky.
After the winter solstice, the daytime is getting longer and plum blossoms have just started to bloom, which are small signs of spring!

 

Do you know how to tell the difference between cherry blossoms and plum blossoms?
I have often been asked from my foreign guests.

 

One of the answers is "Look at the tip of petals. The former has a small split while the latter has a rounded shape."

 

I jogged 6.44km at a pace of 6.54min/km in the morning, and did the usual 20-min yoga in the afternoon.
